5 things I did during the pandemic
The pandemic has really sucked. I’m trying to find the silver-lining in all this, so here are 5 “good” things that I’ve accomplished during 1 year of quarantine.
1 . Moved
Living and working in a studio was unbearable.
I used to love my studio because of its proximity to work, how much light it got, and its price. Seeing my work desktop from my bed started making me feel ill. The south-facing windows made my apartment feel like a greenhouse. Powerful airpurifiers couldn’t do enough against old carpet and badly insulated windows. I never intended to spend so much time in that apartment.
I’ve since moved into a 1br that is newly renovated and stays cool all day. I finally understand what it means to “make your bedroom a sanctuary.”
2 . Finally prioritized my health
One of the major changes I’ve made in my schedule involved taking Wednesday mornings off from work to make time for my health. I was diagnosed with a couple of health issues at the end of 2019 and knew that I would have to tackle them in 2020.
It’s really nice knowing that I have Wednesday mornings to get lab work done, schedule appointments with my PCP and specialists, and pick up my prescriptions.
3 . Got comfortable driving
My fear of dying from COVD-19 has superseded my fear of driving.
4 . Expanded my work responsibilities
WEBTOON continued to grow, despite the pandemic. My team went from a tight 3 to 10+ in less than a year. We combined with other teams and it’s been such a journey.
5 . Listened to 100 audiobooks
74 books in 2020 and 60 in 2021 (so far).
A big shoutout to the LA Public Library for this one.
